Through its Making Life Easier (MLE) program, Toyota Financial Services awards college scholarships totaling $1 million to 100 students across the nation each year. Since 2007, TFS has provided $5.5 million in scholarships to nearly 900 students affiliated with 75 select nonprofit partners nationally who have shown academic achievement and volunteered in their communities. This year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is proud to announce that 11 BGCC members and alumni are recipients of the Making Life Easier Scholarship. Each award amount will be given over the course of four years and can be extended for two additional years through graduate studies.

Toyota Financial Services recently hosted the Dress for Success event. The event was for recipients of the Making Life Easier Scholarship, which included 11 BGCC members this year. During this event, the scholarship recipients were provided a $100 gift card to Nordstrom Rack and paired with volunteer mentor. The volunteer mentors, which also included BGCC Board Chair Lori Henderson and Associate Board members Catherine Davis and Frankie Stewart, assisted the young adults in picking out professional attire to wear at the Toyota Financial Service’s upcoming Community Day award presentation.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson Associate Board Members, Frankie Stewart and Catherine Davis, and BGCC Board Chair Lori Henderson participated as volunteer mentors at the Toyota Financial Services Dress for Success event.
Scholarship recipients attended the 10th Annual Community Day, Celebrating Academic Success, where they received their scholarship awards and had the opportunity to listen to keynote speaker, Magic Johnson. Thanks again to Toyota Financial Services for your generous support of BGCC!
